Day 1: Drive from Rishikesh to Lohajung

- Route Highlights: The scenic drive from Rishikesh to Lohajung passes through iconic towns such as Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet to form the Ganges. The route is lined with lush green valleys and river views, winding through towns like Srinagar, Rudraprayag, and Karanprayag. Arriving at Lohajung by evening, trekkers will find this mountain village to be a peaceful base camp with basic guesthouse accommodations. Mobile networks are available here.
Day 2: Trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal (The Brown Lake)

- Duration: 4-5 hours
- Trek Highlights: The trek begins with a gradual ascent through lush oak and rhododendron forests. The trail is moderately challenging and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Trekkers will pass by small streams and clearings before reaching Bekaltal, a serene high-altitude lake surrounded by dense forest. Known for its brownish tinge in winter, Bekaltal provides a unique and picturesque camping experience. Overnight camping at Bekaltal.
Day 3: Trek from Bekaltal to Brahmatal

- Duration: 6-7 hours
- Trek Highlights: This leg involves a combination of steep and gradual ascents. The trail gradually opens up to snow-laden paths during winter and offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Trekkers pass through open meadows and forest clearings before reaching Brahmatal, a serene and pristine lake nestled among the mountains. The campsite at Brahmatal is known for its stunning view of Jhandi Top, offering an overnight experience under a starry sky.
Day 4: Brahmatal to Brahmatal Top and Return to Daldum Camp
- Altitude Gain: 3,200 m to 3,500 m / 11,570 ft (Brahmatal Top); descent to 2,850 m / 9,350 ft (Daldum Camp)
- Trek Distance: 7 km round trip
- Duration: 5-6 hours
- Trek Highlights: Start early to reach Brahmatal Top, the highest point of the trek. The path involves a gradual ascent, rewarding trekkers with breathtaking panoramic views of peaks like Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, and the entire Roopkund area. After soaking in the views and capturing photos, descend to Daldum Camp for an overnight stay in tents.
Day 5: Return to Base Camp at Lohajung
- Altitude Loss: 3,500 m to 2,350 m / 7,700 ft
- Trek Distance: 4 km
- Duration: 3-4 hours
- Trek Highlights: The return trek involves a combination of steep and gradual descents through forested trails. Arrive at Lohajung by afternoon and rest at a guesthouse for the night, sharing stories and enjoying the final evening in the mountains.
Day 6: Drive Back to Rishikesh

- Route Highlights: The journey back to Rishikesh is filled with scenic views of the rivers and valleys. Trekkers can reflect on their experiences and enjoy the long but rewarding drive.
